Flax is the most common type of the linaceae family. It grows blueish or yellow flowers between June-August. It can grow up to 15-60 cm. It can grow naturally or cultivated for its seeds and fiber. Flax has stalkless greyish green leaves, lining up on the body vertically or horizontally.

The chemical structure of the flax contains 80% fiber, 3% pectin, 10% water. Its seeds have 40-45% oil and they are used in oil manufacturing.

The oil is rich in omega 3 oil acids. It is also used in paint under the name of linseed oil. Seeds that are processed for oil manufacturing are later used in animal feed.
